The Millbrae Lions Club and City of Millbrae annually hosts a unique opportunity for youths to learn and interact with the city government. 

 

Education and Experience

Participants attend a council meeting and sit next to the Mayor and other council members. Participants will shadow city staff and learn about the different city jobs, such as City Manager, Police Chief, or Fire Chief to name a few. In the end, the participant will learn how a city functions and how public policy is created.

 

Benefits

  • Participants will receive a certificate of completion and a commendation from the City of Millbrae.

  • Invitation for participant and guest to dine with Millbrae Lions' Club

Tues (7:00 pm-8:00 pm) Attend City Council Meeting

Thurs  (3:30 pm-6:30 pm) Mock City Council Meeting

Attend Mock Council Meeting (to be taped)

Decide on critical issues affecting the city.
